Get started with astrophotography with your Celestron Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope. The Schmidt-Cassegrain's long telescope f/10 focal ratio makes them difficult to take long exposure photos with your DSLR Nikon or DSLR Canon EOS camera - that's why we included the Celestron f/6.3 focal reducer to make the telescope "faster" for optimum use for astrophotography.
Simple to get started
To use, simply thread on the Focal Reducer to the rear-cell of the Celestron SCT telescope. Followed by threading the T-Adapter onto the Focal-Reducer. Finally, replace your cameras lens with either the Nikon or Canon EOS T-Ring to allow connection to the T-Adapter.
Great for use on Celestron CPC Telescopes
Importance of a shutter-release cable
It is important to use a Shutter Release cable with your camera. You will not want to take your exposures by pressing your shutter button on your camera body - this will produce vibration. A remote shutter release cable was either included with your camera, or is easily available and inexpensive from any local camera store.
