Retains all of the celebrated features of the original EDT102, but now includes genuine premium HOYA FCD100 ED glass, which has characteristics similar to OHARA's FPL-53 glass. By committing to technological innovation, Explore Scientific has launched the fruitful mass production of high-performance optical glass at the FCD family's apex. Combining this with high refractive index optical glass allows Explore Scientific to achieve exceptional advanced chromatic aberration correction. HOYA FCD100 is widely recognized as one of the premier obtainable ED glass types.

The optical tube assembly is painted white and features an integrated dew shield on one end a 2.5" HEX Focuser on the other. The telescope includes a cradle ring with built-in handle and a Vixen-style dovetail plate that attaches to mounts with a Vixen-width saddle. Additional accessories include a finder scope base, which comes already attached to the tube, and an Explore Scientific 2" Diagonal, with 99% reflectivity to compliment the optics of this portable, classic refractor.
