This is a scaled down version of the "king of the field" 31mm Nagler Type 5.
The new 16mm Nagler Type 5 is a smaller, lighter (0.45 lbs.), 1.25" only, 6-element design which replaces the 8-element Nagler Type 2. It retains the original 10mm eye-relief.
This exciting little high-contrast eyepiece looks like a 19mm Panoptic, but packs the visual impact and sharpness we all expect from the 82° Nagler series. This was the "mystery" eyepiece Al Nagler showed at this year's Winter Star Party. Its performance generated a lot of buzz with the big Dobsonian crowd!
